Hermes Balducci, with all his ideological and methodological limits, can be consider as an Italian pioneer in the study of Ottoman architecture and – if it were possible - more and deep studies .Hermes Balducci (1904-1938) is an interesting figure of researcher active in the study of architectural heritage. His university education follows a precise path aimed at obtaining a vast .In the period between 1930 and 1934, Hermes Balducci travelled to the Dodecanese Islands several times, entrusted by the local Italian archaeological institution with working on the heritage.
